What if your intuition has been speaking to you all along, but you were never taught how to recognize its voice?
Many of us were taught to trust what we can explain.
What we can prove.
What makes logical sense.
We learned that good decisions are the ones that can be justified, defended, and backed up with evidence.
But not everything that is true arrives that way.
Sometimes wisdom comes quietly.
Sometimes it arrives as a feeling in your body, a sudden knowing, a sense of clarity you can’t quite explain, or a quiet inner voice that seems to appear before you have any external proof.
The challenge is that many of us have learned to override those moments.
We dismiss them.
We question them.
We tell ourselves we’re imagining things or being irrational.
And over time, we lose touch with one of the deepest sources of guidance we have: our own inner knowing.
Several years ago, I was at my boyfriend’s house.
Everything felt completely normal.
We had spent the day together and returned to his place. There was no obvious sign that anything was wrong. Nothing I could point to and say, “This is why I think something is about to change.”
And then, out of nowhere, a voice dropped into my mind:
“He’s going to break up with you.”
What surprised me wasn’t just the message.
It was how calm it felt.
There was no fear attached to it. No anxiety. No emotional intensity.
It was simply a quiet knowing.
At the time, I dismissed it almost immediately.
Because it didn’t make sense.
Our day had been normal. Our relationship seemed fine. There was no logical reason for me to believe that this was true.
So another part of me stepped in, the part that needed things to be explainable.
“That’s just a random thought.”
“Don’t read into it.”
“Don’t create a problem where there isn’t one.”
So I moved on.
But not long after, he did break up with me.
And what stayed with me wasn’t just the unexpected ending of the relationship.
It was the realization that a part of me had known before I had any external evidence.
My intuition had spoken.
I just hadn’t learned how to listen.
When we think about intuition, we often imagine it as some obvious, undeniable feeling.
But intuition can be subtle.
It doesn’t always arrive as a loud message or a dramatic moment of clarity.
Sometimes it’s a quiet pull toward something, a feeling of expansion or contraction in your body, a thought that arrives fully formed, or a sense of knowing that doesn’t have a logical explanation yet.
Your intuition may not look like mine did.
It may not come through as a voice.
It may show up as a gut feeling.
A repeated nudge.
A dream.
A sense that something is or isn’t aligned.
A feeling in your body that says yes or no before your mind has had time to analyze it.
The important thing isn’t the form your intuition takes.
The important thing is your willingness to notice it.
Many of us have been conditioned to believe that logic should always lead.
And logic is valuable.
It helps us understand, integrate, and make decisions based on what we know.
But logic can only work with the information available to us.
Intuition allows us to sense what is still unfolding.
It helps us notice things before we can fully articulate them.
The problem is that when our intuition speaks, our minds often rush in with questions:
“But how do I know?”
“What if I’m wrong?”
“What if I’m just making this up?”
And before we’ve even had the chance to listen, we’ve talked ourselves out of what we already sensed.
This is why learning to trust your intuition is not about abandoning logic.
It’s about creating a relationship between the two.
Your intuition offers the knowing.
Your mind helps you understand what to do with it.
One practice that has supported me in deepening my relationship with my intuition is what I call the Inner Oracle Practice.
The first step is noticing.
Begin paying attention to moments when an intuitive nudge arises.
Maybe it’s a sudden thought.
Maybe it’s a feeling in your body.
Maybe it’s a quiet sense of certainty.
Instead of immediately explaining it away, pause.
Stay with the knowing for a moment longer than you normally would.
Ask yourself:
How did this knowing arrive?
Was it a thought, a feeling, a sensation in my body, or a sense of certainty?
What was happening around me when I received it?
The next step is tracking.
Write these moments down.
Notice how your intuition communicates with you.
Over time, you begin gathering your own evidence.
You begin building trust through experience.
Because self-trust isn’t created by waiting until you’re 100% certain.
It’s created by noticing that you can listen to yourself and respond with care.
You don’t have to become intuitive.
You already are.
Your intuition is not something you need to earn or develop from scratch.
It’s a part of you that has been communicating all along.
The practice is learning how to recognize its voice.
Learning to slow down enough to hear it.
Learning to trust what you know before the outside world confirms it.
Because the deepest form of self-devotion is honoring the wisdom that already exists within you.
Before you go, I invite you to sit with these questions:
How does my intuition tend to speak to me?
When have I known something before I had proof?
How did that knowing show up—in my body, my thoughts, or my environment?
What do I tend to do when my intuition speaks? Do I listen, or do I immediately question it?
If you’re ready to deepen your relationship with your intuition and learn how to recognize the unique ways your inner wisdom speaks to you, I’d love to invite you into Inner Oracle.
Inner Oracle is a guided ritual designed to help you strengthen your self-trust, stop second-guessing yourself, and reconnect with the wisdom that has always been within you.
