I'm here to support women of color in reconnecting with their intuition.

As women of color, many of us have been taught to question the essence of who we are. We’ve been told that our feelings are too much, our presence too bold, our intuition less valid than cold logic. Over time, these messages can leave us feeling disconnected—from ourselves, our roots, and the innate wisdom that lives within our bodies.
But what if I told you there’s a simple yet profound way to begin reclaiming your power, reconnecting with your intuition, and honoring the divine being you already are?
For me, that practice has been cacao.
When I first began my cacao ritual, I was searching for a way to open my heart to myself, my ancestors, and the universe. What I found was more than a practice—it was a portal. Cacao helped me step into my truest self, reminding me that I am enough, just as I am.
Each time I hold a warm cup of cacao, I feel deeply grounded, connected to the earth, and held by the wisdom of my ancestors. It’s a moment to return home to myself, to trust that the universe is always weaving everything for my highest good.
This ritual is now one of my favorite spiritual practices—a sacred space to let go of fear, judgment, and self-doubt and instead embrace love and compassion.
Cacao is more than a drink; it’s a spiritual experience. Through it, we reclaim parts of ourselves that have been silenced or forgotten. We allow ourselves to reconnect with:
When you create a cacao ritual, you’re creating a sacred space to be with yourself and whatever arises. It’s a practice of deep self-love and compassion, a reminder that your intuition is your compass.
Here’s how I practice my cacao ritual—a grounding and heart-opening ceremony that brings me back to my truest self:
I begin in front of my ancestor or goddess altar. The space feels sacred and inviting, a place where I can connect with my heart and spirit.
Before holding my cacao, I speak directly to my ancestors, honoring their wisdom and presence.
With my cup in both hands, I say:
“Dear Mama Cacao, thank you for the wisdom you bring. My heart is open to receive it. Thank you to the earth, the elements, the ancestors, the farmers, and all the hands and hearts who brought this cacao to me. My heart is open to receive its medicine.”
I connect with the cacao through my senses, exploring its warmth, aroma, color, and texture. I lean over the cup and take three deep inhales and exhales, letting its essence ground me.
I slowly take my first sip, savoring its richness and allowing it to open my heart.
I pause for a moment to check in with my heart and belly, noticing how I feel and letting gratitude wash over me.
Before ending the ritual, I take a moment to express gratitude to my ancestors, the earth, and the cacao for their wisdom and nourishment.
This ritual always leaves me feeling deeply connected, grounded, and open to the love and guidance around me.
